Aussie Video Listing Grabs the Spotlight

The US-based Geek Estate Blog recently highlighted this video listing, which showcases Surfers Paradise property Circle on Cavill, as an example of what agents should be aiming for:

This video was created for Centrepoint First National’s Lucas Wilson by PlatinumHD Propvid Australia, and has been viewed over 1,500 times since being uploaded just over a week ago. With the video generating so much buzz, we had to get in touch with Wilson to hear his take.

“The feedback has been amazing, with the majority of viewers commenting on the professionalism and the finish of the video,” Wilson says. “A number of people have commented that they felt they should see more of the unit, however this is just a minor part of the marketing campaign and is specifically designed to sell the ‘sizzle’ not the ‘sausage!’”

You might think that creating a video like this would require a huge budget and days of filming, but Platinum HD say it was shot in around four hours for AUD$1,700. (If that’s beyond your marketing budget and you’re planning to shoot and edit your own video listings, do take a moment check out our tips on how to fix common video problems and optimise your videos for YouTube’s search.)

Our only suggestion for this video listing would be for Wilson to add Centrepoint First National’s address to the description field, so that navigating to his website is a simple matter of copying and pasting rather than resorting to Google. This is a step that’s often overlooked, but we suspect that will change as video listings become an even more essential part of every agent’s online marketing package.
