There’s just one problem with consistently adding great content to your Facebook page - it doesn’t exist anywhere else. While Facebook’s size and scope mean it’s relatively unlikely that your data will ever be completely lost, the fact that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s own Facebook page was recently hacked shows that the social network does still have vulnerabilities.
So what do you do if you want to preserve all the communication you’ve had with clients on Facebook, along with your photos, videos and other information? Luckily, the process is easy:
1. After logging in to Facebook, head to “account settings” under the “account” menu at the top of the page.
2. You should now be looking at a set of options under the “settings” tab. Click on “learn more” next to “download your information” near the bottom of the page.
3. Click the green “download” button after the security explanation.
4. Open your email account to receive your confirmation email, then complete your security test.
5. You can now download all your Facebook information to your desktop.
