Real Estate Tech Roundup

Each week, we take a look at the top stories in real estate technology from the past seven days. Here are the latest developments from around the world:

  • It’s been a big week at Century 21, which launched a social media training program for its agents through a contract with YouReach Media along with a revamped website, a new version of its iPhone app, and its first apps for Android, BlackBerry and Palm devices. As inman.com reports, this is Century 21′s first website redesign since 2008, and adds rental properties from Century 21 agents and from multiple listing services.
  • Agents with California-based company MLSListings will now be able to showcase, translate and market listings in 19 languages through a new partnership with Proxio. “MLSListings is providing a valuable service to the Bay Area’s diverse homebuyers, to the sellers on the other side of the transaction, and to the agents that serve them,” said Janet Case, Proxio CEO and co-founder.
  • Canadian real estate marketing company Point2 also signed up for a partnership with Proxio, giving Point2 Agent platform users access to Proxio’s subscription-based global referral network in over 100 countries. At the same time, Proxio users around the world will be able to use Point2’s listing syndication network of over 60 third party real estate consumer websites, search engines, and auction and classified advertising sites in North America.
  • US FSBO website forsalebyowner.com is the latest to release an iPhone app, which allows users to see details of nearby homes for sale and search listings. The website just released a new tool that allows owners to fine-tune the price of their home.
  • German market leading portal immobilienscout24.de launched a contest for developers to create market-ready Android applications based on the portal’s REST API. The competition runs until 23 May, with a first prize of €8,000.
