Blogging for the Very Busy: Tumblr

While we’re firmly behind the idea of real estate agents using WordPress as their blogging platform of choice, we’re also aware that WordPress isn’t the only option out there. So today, we’re taking a look at a blogging tool that could work well for on-the-go agents with very little time to spare: Tumblr.

In a nutshell
Tumblr bills itself as the easiest way to blog, and a glance at the user interface reveals why. In just a few clicks, you can share everything from text, photos and quotes to links, audio and video, without ever looking at a line of html.

Positives
As well as being free and fast, Tumblr also offers plenty of ready-made themes for you to try out on your blog when you have a little more time to spare. When you’re really rushed, you can also post to your Tumblr blog from your email account and via its mobile app.

Drawbacks
There’s a lot to like about Tumblr, but something it doesn’t automatically include is the option to comment on posts. If you want to enable comments, you’ll need to spend a few minutes adding the Disqus comments platform.

Have you made the jump to Tumblr for your real estate blog? Let us know if it’s cutting down on your blogging time commitment in our comments.
