We all know that good photos are one of the essentials for an attention-grabbing listing, but the process of getting your photos ready to publish has to be one of the more boring tasks in an agent’s day. That is unless you’re using Picnik: an online tool that claims it can actually make photo editing an enjoyable experience.
In a nutshell
Picnik is a web-based application that allows you to upload, edit, save and share your photos, all without leaving your browser.
Positives
The simplicity and speed of Picnik leaves heavy-duty photo editing applications like Photoshop in the dust. While real estate agents probably wouldn’t use all some of the more “artsy” effects, the ability to quickly rotate, crop and lighten images will certainly come in handy.
Drawbacks
Like any “freemium” online tool, Picnik keeps some of its more advanced features - such as the ability to undo previously saved edits - behind a pay wall (US$24.95 per year). That said, chances are you’ll be able to make all the edits you need to for listings without going down the paid path.
