New Website from Coldwell Banker LA

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Greater Los Angeles has launched a website to promote for sale and open house listings in the counties of Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara.

cbview.com is the online extension of The View – Coldwell Banker’s weekly magazine that began appearing in Los Angeles area newspapers on 11 July. The website, which integrates Google Maps to display listings by location, allows users to search for property listings, agents and Coldwell Banker offices, and provides an online version of The View magazine. cbview.com also links to a Twitter account, Facebook fan page and the Coldwell Banker You Tube channel.

A company statement quotes Chris Crocker, publisher of The View and Regional Vice President of Marketing for NRT LLC, the company that owns and operates Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, who says:

“The View represents a major shift in real estate advertising that will greatly benefit our clients and agents. Today’s highly competitive real estate marketplace requires both online and offline property information sources that reach the greatest potential audience. The extensive regional distribution of the View will strengthen our ability to connect with a more diverse clientele and give our clients a competitive edge.”

The statement also explains that the cbview.com model was originally tested in Orange County, where the online version of the OC View magazine, ocviewonline.com, now receives up to 40,000 hits per week.

But it’s not all good news for Coldwell Banker franchises. In New York, the Coldwell Banker Hunt Kennedy brokerage is closing its doors as a result of the global economic downturn. Chief Executive Officer David Michonski told inman.com that the brokerage has a twenty year history in Manhattan. “The rest of the country has been in real estate recession for several years. We entered a meltdown here starting last September that has been relentless,” Michonski is quoted as saying.
