The finalists for this year’s Inman News Innovator Awards have been announced ahead of the upcoming Real Estate Connect conference in San Francisco this August.
It is the 12th time the annual awards have been held. The awards honour companies that use technology and innovation to enhance the real estate transaction process and improve the overall experience for consumers and real estate professionals.
Finalists are chosen across five categories: brokerage or franchise; new technology; Web service; blog; and media site. An annual “Innovator of the Year Award” will be announced at the conference to recognise an individual who embodies the spirit of innovation in the real estate industry.

Last year the Innovator of the Year Award was won by Bob Hale, CEO for the Houston Association of Realtors, while Sawbuck Realty received the brokerage category award, estately.com was named the most innovative Web service, Roost won the most innovative technology award; Agent Genius was honored with the blog award; and FrontDoor.com received the Most Innovative Media Site award.
The winners of the 2009 Inman News Innovator Awards will be revealed at a ceremony at the upcoming Real Estate Connect conference in San Francisco, which runs from 5-7 August 2009.
Property Ad Guru’s sister website, Property Portal Watch, has once again teamed with the folk at Inman News to create the Property Portal Watch Workshop – a free, one day workshop for the owners and operators of property portals from around the world. It will be held on the 4th August 2009, at the Palace Hotel, San Francisco, the day before the Real Estate Connect SFO conference.
In January this year, Property Portal Watch held the first Property Portal Watch Workshop in New York. This was attended by 50 people from 13 different countries representing 33 different portal sites.
