There are a large number of free online tools you can use to get started on improving your SEO, but they do vary in quality. One of the better options is HubSpot’s Website Grader.
In a nutshell
Website Grader uses a “proprietary blend of over 50 different variables,” such as search engine data, website structure and traffic to give your site an overall score and tips on where you need to improve. Along with suggestions on how to boost your SEO, it also covers how you promote your website and how well you convert visitors.
Positives
Generating your free analysis is as easy as entering your website and email addresses, and you can even compare your website against another site of your choice. Better still, the explanations of what you need to do to improve your website are given in plain English, so you can start making changes immediately.
Drawbacks
For HubSpot, Website Grader seems to be as much about generating business from those who register as providing SEO tips, so you will be asked to sign up for further services a number of times.
