New MySpace Reached Most Australian Users

In this week’s guest post from SOBOXthe social media solution created by propertyadguru.com publisher Classified Ad Ventures – we hear how MySpace is rebranding itself to stand out in the social media space:

MySpace announced the release of its new design at the end of October and it has now reached most Australian users.

Once the world’s pre-eminent social network, MySpace is now focusing its efforts on the 13-35-year-old demo with a new goal of becoming “the leading entertainment destination that is socially powered by the passions of fans and curators”. This is opposed to it being “a place for friends” – its previous goal.

The completely revamped interface comprises, according to their website, a cleaner design, a new logo, “discover” and “my stuff” tabs at the top of the page and stream posts that can be read like a magazine or watched like TV.

From a user point of view, you can now have custom profiles, there are artist themes and better design tools, exclusive badges for your activity and you can sync all your social accounts across networks.

The new MySpace is also said to help you connect with your interests, share finds with your friends and like-minded people and get recommendations based on your interests.

If you fit the demographic and haven’t used MySpace for a while, it might be worth having another look – let us know what you think.
