With the start of a new decade almost upon us, a couple of questions come to mind. First, for those readers who have been working in real estate for ten years or more: how did you market your real estate business in the year 2000? And for all our readers: are you using any of the same marketing platforms today that you did five, three or even two years ago?
In considering these questions, we’re pretty confident that you’ll recognise a number of significant changes in your marketing strategy. What are they? Which of these new strategies do you think are working?
Making any kind of prediction about what real estate marketing will look like in another decade’s time seems unwise to say the least, but we can make some guesses about how things might change over the next 12 months.
We predict that over the next year agents in less tech-focused markets, such as Australia and New Zealand, will start catching up to their US counterparts and work harder at creating a better digital presence. This will likely include more blogging, a better website, more use of Facebook and Twitter, and perhaps even some forays into online video.
So where will you be taking your online marketing over the next year? We hope this post has got you thinking, and of course we’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas in our comments.
