In this week’s guest post from SOBOX, the social media solution created by propertyadguru.com publisher Classified Ad Ventures, we hear about Google’s latest search offering.
Google launched Goggles on Android late last year but now it has finally released it for iPhone.
An enjoyable time-waster, as well as being a handy addition to the Google Mobile App for iPhone, Google Goggles uses your phone’s camera to search Google. Confused? You just take a picture of an object, rather than typing it into the search box or speaking your query, and then your results are listed.
All you need to do is tap the camera button and take the picture to begin your search. Then Goggles analyses the image and highlights objects it recognises. Once this is done – a matter of seconds for most searches – just click on the result/s you want.
Another improvement included in the updated app is it now uses your phone’s location to give you more relevant search results.
Google Goggles is still a Labs product and the mind boggles on how this product could be used in the real estate world. The Commonwealth Bank already have an app for consumers who are actively house hunting and wanting immediate information about a property, but what Google is developing could offer so much more. It is just a matter of wait and see!
